
Rodelle Apple Pie
This great Fourth of July apple pie recipe has been a family tradition for over 100 years. We’ve added a few modern changes for a fast paced world.
Preparation Time: 15 min / Baking Time: 65 – 75 min / Cooling Time: 20 min / Servings: 8
Ingredients:
9” unbaked pie shell, deep dish
1 cup sour cream
¾ cup sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1 tsp Rodelle Vanilla Extract
2 tbsp flour
1/8 tsp salt
21 oz can Apple pie filling
- Combine sour cream, sugar, egg, Rodelle Vanilla Extract, flour and salt.
- Stir in pie filling and mix well.
- Pour into unbaked pie shell.
Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes, reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake for 30 minutes more.
Topping:
1/3 cup flour
3 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ cup butter
- While the pie is baking, combine flour, sugar and cinnamon.
- Crumble the butter into the mixture.
When the pie is finished baking, remove from oven, sprinkle topping over pie and bake 20 minutes longer. |
