
Rodelle Easy Made Sugar Cookies
Preparation - 20 min | Total time – 2 hour 45 min| Yields – 32 cookies
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
8 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp RODELLE vanilla
Sanding sugar
Decorating candies
Method:
- In a large bowl, sift the dry ingredients together and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light in color and fluffy.
- Beat in egg and RODELLE vanilla.
- Scrape down the sides of the bowl making sure to fully blend.
- With the mixer on low, gradually add the flour mixture; beat just until combined.
- Divide the dough into two. Wrap each half in plastic and refrigerated until firm, at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 325*.
- Place one round of cookie dough between two sheets of lightly floured parchment paper; roll out to 1/8” thickness, lightly dusting dough with flour as needed.
- Lightly dust cookie cut outs and cut the desired shapes; place onto sheet pan.
- If the dough becomes too soft, chill for 10 minutes and start over.
- Cookies can be decorated at this point with decorations or sugar before baking.
- Bake cookies until edges ate golden, 10-15 minutes; making sure to rotate the cookie sheets half way through the cookie time, for proper baking.
- Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.
Decorate the plain cookies with frosting and colored sprinkles. |
